Times are changing rapidly, and so is the process of planning a move. Your safety is important! That is why we have put together a step-by-step process of how to plan a move virtually to aid in social distancing and to keep your family safe during the move process.

  1. Find a Realtor

If you are in the process of buying or selling your home, it is important to find a realtor you can trust. Typically, when hiring a realtor, you would schedule an in-person meeting to get to know them. If you are still uncomfortable meeting with strangers amid the pandemic, do your research to find the perfect realtor for you. Ask for recommendations from friends and family, explore your local real estate agencies online, and most importantly read reviews! Once you have found a realtor, you think would be best for you, give them a call to set up a virtual or phone meeting.

  1. House Hunt Safely

The great thing about house hunting during a pandemic in 2020 is that you can tour almost any home for sale online! Head over to Zillow or Realtor.com for a virtual tour of almost any home in your area. Narrow down your list to your top 3 properties. If you are comfortable making an offer based on a virtual tour, give your realtor a call. If not, schedule a time with your realtor for a walkthrough. Encourage your realtor to follow social distancing guidelines such as: wearing a mask, no handshakes, and remaining six feet apart. Ask if the homeowners have had or know someone who has tested positive for COVID-19 and encourage the homeowners to do a thorough deep clean of the home before your walkthrough.

  1. Schedule a Virtual Survey

Now that an offer has been accepted, it is time to start planning your move! It is important to receive at least three estimates from reputable moving companies before choosing the mover that is right for you. Fry-Wagner offers a virtual survey, which allows our Estimator to walk through your home virtually and provide a moving quote. You can schedule a virtual survey at any time without inviting anyone into your home. Schedule a virtual survey now!

  1. Move Safely

Although it would be great if your move could be done virtually, it simply cannot. That is why Fry-Wagner is taking extra precautions to keep both your family and our employees safe when moving your belongings. Fry-Wagner is closely monitoring the health of our crews with daily temperature checks, providing PPE to all crew members, and practicing mandatory social distancing guidelines as provided by the CDC and WHO. We also encourage all customers who choose Fry-Wagner to thoroughly disinfect their homes after our crews leave the premises.
