Typically, when hiring a realtor, you would schedule an in-person meeting to get to know them. If you are still uncomfortable meeting with strangers amid the pandemic, do your research to find the perfect realtor for you. Ask for recommendations from friends and family, explore your local real estate agencies online, and most importantly read reviews! Once you have found a realtor, you think would be best for you, give them a call to set up a virtual or phone meeting.

  1. House Hunt Safely

The great thing about house hunting during a pandemic in 2020 is that you can tour almost any home for sale online! Head over to Zillow or Realtor.com for a virtual tour of almost any home in your area. Narrow down your list to your top 3 properties. If you are comfortable making an offer based on a virtual tour, give your realtor a call. If not, schedule a time with your realtor for a walkthrough. Encourage your realtor to follow social distancing guidelines such as: wearing a mask, no handshakes, and remaining six feet apart. Ask if the homeowners have had or know someone who has tested positive for COVID-19 and encourage the homeowners to do a thorough deep clean of the home before your walkthrough.
